Alright, so after spending a few weeks with the Akko Astrolink Magnetic (Hall Effect) switches, I think I can safely say these are among the best options currently available for Wooting-style keyboards. I’ve tested them in both my Wooting 80HE and Monsgeek M1 V5 TMR, and they’ve really impressed me — especially in terms of sound and feel. They are $35 for 45 switches.

🔊 Sound & Feel

If you’re coming from something like the Owlab TI or Gateron Magnetic Jade, the Astrolinks have a more “pop thock” profile — a deeper and fuller sound that’s closer to classic mechanical switches. They lack that hollow, metallic resonance that some Hall effect switches are infamous for. The result is a typing experience that feels clean, snappy, and very satisfying.

The factory lubing is legitimately good — smooth out of the box, no scratchiness or unevenness. The switches also have a firm bottom-out and minimal wobble, which is surprising given how light they are (36gf actuation). They’re easy to install and remove, and while some people mentioned looseness in plates, I didn’t encounter that issue in either of my builds.

⚙️ Performance

Functionally, they’re exactly what you’d expect from rapid trigger-capable HE switches. The response is fast and predictable, ideal for FPS or rhythm games. The magnetic sensor range feels consistent across the board — no weird actuation variance like you sometimes get with cheaper HE clones.

The light diffuser is also worth mentioning. It’s subtle but helps make RGB lighting more uniform, which looks nice if you care about aesthetics.

🧩 Compatibility

These are N-pole-down switches, so make sure your keyboard PCB matches that layout (they won’t work with S-pole boards like the early MOD007B HE). Akko lists compatibility with Wooting, MonsGeek FUN60, and M1 V5 TMR keyboards.

💸 Value & Build

At around $35.99 for 45 switches, the value is excellent. You’re getting premium performance and sound quality comparable to more expensive switches. The build feels solid, and the rated 100 million keystroke lifespan seems in line with other high-end HE options.

🧠 Final Thoughts

These switches pretty much bridge the gap between traditional mechanical feel and magnetic performance. They’re quiet, responsive, and genuinely enjoyable to type or game on. If you’ve been chasing the “perfect” Hall effect switch that doesn’t sound cheap or hollow, the Akko Astrolinks are absolutely worth a try.

Pros:

  • Deep, satisfying “pop thock” sound
  • Great factory lubing
  • Stable and smooth keypress
  • Works perfectly with Wooting and compatible boards
  • Excellent value for money

Cons:

  • Not compatible with S-pole PCBs
  • Slightly lighter actuation may not suit everyone

Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

One of the best-sounding and best-feeling magnetic switches out there. Mechanical soul, magnetic precision. 😉
