The GameSir G7 Pro is a licensed Xbox controller with a strong build, swappable components, and premium comfort. After 3 days of hands-on testing, it’s clear to me this is a solid product, but if you’re buying a controller mainly for PC, there may be better value options like the GameSir Cyclone 2 or EasySMX D10. Or even 8Bitdo Ultimate. And G7 Pro will have wireless Xbox version later this year… but it will be double the price.

Gamesir G7 Pro xbox controller
Gamesir G7 Pro xbox controller
  • Platform support– Xbox (wired only), PC (2.4 GHz dongle or wired)
  • Build– Excellent ergonomics, removable faceplate, rubberized rear grips
  • Price– 79.99 USD

✅ Pros

  • Excellent in-hand feel– One of the most comfortable controllers I used recently, sitting somewhere between the Xbox One controller and Cyclone 2 in shape.
  • TMR joysticks– Responsive and smooth with minimal dead zone. Swappable and easy to replace.
  • Mechanical buttons– All face buttons, triggers, and even some utility buttons feel tactile and responsive.
  • Good ergonomics– Extra buttons on the top are very easy to reach during gameplay. Rear buttons are also mechanical and have a physical lock switch.
  • Swappable D-pads– Comes with two styles—circular and cross. Though the circular D-pad performs well, it looks awkward with the faceplate on.
  • Software support– GameSir Nexus app (PC) allows for dead zone tuning, polling rate adjustments (up to 1000Hz), and profile management.

❌ Cons

  • Only two back buttons… really Gamesir?
  • No turbo/macro functionality– A dealbreaker for some. No turbo or combo functions for rapid inputs.
  • Not wireless for Xbox– Works on Xbox via cable only. Wireless functionality limited to PC.
  • Limited customization in app– Nexus app lacks advanced features like macro recording or assigning keyboard inputs, which are standard in other GameSir models like Cyclone 2.
  • Plastic front panel feels hollow– Especially the gray trim. While grips are rubberized in the back, the overall material mix is inconsistent.

Alright, so.. GameSir G7 Pro is a well-built, premium-feeling controller that delivers a solid experience for Xbox and PC players. Its mechanical buttons, swappable parts, and ergonomic layout make it a joy to use for long sessions. But the lack of turbo/macro functionality and Bluetooth support limits its flexibility—especially for PC gamers who want advanced input customization.

If you’re gaming primarily on PC, the GameSir Cyclone 2 or EasySMX D10 may offer better features at a lower price. The G7 Pro is best suited for players who want a comfortable, high-end wired Xbox controller , but if you game mostly on PC then there are better options out there.
