ZUOYA X86 Review – the cheapest RT keyboard

The ZUOYA X86 is the cheapest rapid trigger keyboard with hall effect magnetic switches I could find on Aliexpress right now. But how good is it?

• Built Like a Tank: The ABS plastic construction feels anything but cheap. This keyboard has a reassuring heft and solidity that speaks to its durability. I’ve confidently tossed it in my bag for LAN parties without a second thought.
• Rapid Trigger: Rapid Trigger works very well. Comparing it to $200 Wooting 60HE I couldn’t tell much of a difference, but I’m just a casual gamer.
• The Joy of Mechanical Switches: I’m no stranger to mechanical keyboards, but the ZUOYA x86 sets itself apart. The responsiveness and satisfying tactile feedback make both intense gaming sessions and long stretches of typing an absolute pleasure.
• Lightning-Fast Hot Plugging: The promise of quick-trigger hot plugging is no exaggeration. Whether it’s a mid-match emergency keycap swap or trying a new switch feel, I’ve never experienced input lag or delays with this keyboard.
• Not Just For Function: The ZUOYA x86 looks as good as it performs. The sleek lines and subtle design elements make it a handsome addition to my desk, while the multicolor backlight adds just the right dose of gaming flair – and crucially, helps in dim lighting.
• Standard Yet Spacious: While I sometimes miss my dedicated macro keys, the 83-key layout remains surprisingly comfortable. Key spacing is well-judged, allowing for rapid, error-free typing.
